Expressive E has announced the Osmose CE, a new controller-product family that retains the keybed technology of the original Osmose instrument, allowing control of MPE enable hardware and software with a dedicated controller and adding Ctrl-e a software instrument ecosystem which has multiple MPE enable synth engines built in and 900+ presets. With a single connection, you can browse, play and control multiple synth engines.
- The same core: The Osmose CE utilizes the exact same keybed mechanism as the original Osmose, offering polyphonic aftertouch, per-note pitch control, and response to pressure, bend, and release gestures.
- Ctrl-e ecosystem: The controller ships with Ctrl-e, a companion software providing over 900 expressive presets curated from partners like Synapse Audio, AAS, Kilohearts, GForce, Dawesome, and Vital.
- Unified workflow: Expressive E promises a “no template, no routing” experience; the hardware interface integrates deeply with Ctrl-e, allowing users to browse presets, filter sounds, and adjust macros directly from the 4.3-inch color LCD.
- DAW control: Supported DAWs include Ableton Live 12, Cubase 15, Bitwig 5, and Logic Pro 12. The hardware handles transport, track navigation, and mixing, keeping you focused on the keys rather than the mouse.
- Performance tools: Built-in features include an MPE Arpeggiator where notes remain independent and responsive, and Press Glide, which allows gliding between notes using pressure alone.
- Specs: Connectivity includes USB-C, DIN MIDI In/Out, and two assignable pedal inputs. The chassis features a white aluminum top and black base,
- Manufactured in the Expressive E factory Poland.
